Investigation of a Consumer’s Purchase Intentions and Behaviors towards Environmentally Friendly Grocery Packaging

Plastic packaging dominates the US grocery industry. This realization raises question of whether consumers are purchasing food that is not wrapped in conventional plastic but environmentally friendly packaging. quantitative study adapted Theory Planned Behavior to investigate relationship between consumers’ socio-demographics, purchase intention, and behavior regarding The survey was distributed through Qualtrics, a sample 487 eligible gathered. uncovers some novel findings. First, results suggest subjective norms substantially stimulate intentions, influencing actual behavior. Second, we discovered intention perceived behavioral control likely working conjunction help bridge intention-behavior gap consumption. Third, this supplied fresh perspective on socio-demographics’ role consumption, confirming predominantly younger, unmarried more prone items packaged materials.
